Disrupt Africa: Egypt’s Flat6Labs launches seed-stage investment firm F6 Ventures
Egypt-based, MENA-focused investor and accelerator FlatLabs has rejigged operations to launch F6 Group, which includes its renowned accelerator as well as a newly-launched seed-stage investment firm, F6 Ventures.
Flat6Labs is the MENA region’s leading seed and early stage venture capital firm, running a host of startup programmes and active in Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia, Bahrain, Jordan, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
The company has now reorganised its operations after 14 years, launching F6 Group, a newly-formed entity integrating venture capital and entrepreneurial support. The new entity is anchored by arms – F6 Ventures, a newly-launched seed-stage investment firm, and Flat6Labs, the region’s most recognised startup accelerator platform.
F6 Ventures will manage seed funds across the Middle East and Africa. Led by general partners and co-founders Dina el-Shenoufy and Ramez El-Serafy, it launches with six funds, representing over US$90 million in assets under management (AUM) and a historical portfolio of more than 300 companies.
“F6 Ventures marks a new era in our journey across the Middle East and Africa, bringing focused capital and sharper execution to support the region’s boldest founders,” said el-Shenoufy. “We are deepening our commitment to early-stage startups to help them scale from idea to impact.”
A key pillar of the new strategy is the Africa Seed Fund, which has a target size of US$85 million and a hard cap of US$100 million.
